More human trials are needed for manuka honey to appear so that more effective commercial use can be made with any complex treatment process. 

Dry eyes

Dry eyes are because of less tears being sent in your eyes i.e. not having enough tears. In many cases, tears are generated in eyes in an artificial way to treat chronic dry eyes. Still this is not a permanent solution for this. 

Artificial tears with manuka honey and eye gel with manuka are now in test to use it as a dry eye treatment. A study on 114 people was found to decrease redness and irritation in eyes after having chronic dry eyes.

Honey has been used as skin care to reduce wrinkles. Honey can seal the moisture and keep it soft for a long time. This reduces the signs of aging and keeps the top skin layer healthy.  

Many other alternatives like chemicals and anti-aging ingredients are not safe to keep your eyes healthy. Honey can be used to mix with saline water, coconut oil or jojoba oil and apply to tighten the eyes skin.

Using a mixture of honey and water can change the color of your eyes over time. There are no proven facts about this, but it has worked on many people who tried. Honey penetrates the outer layer of cornea and reduces the amount of melanin in them. 

Side Effects of Honey in eyes

Raw honey is never placed in your eye directly. You must have Manuka Honey from an online store. You can make your own version of honey eye drops.

Mix dissolved honey with artificial tears, saline solution or sterilized water to make your own mixture. 

  1.  Boil one cup of water with 5 teaspoons of honey and stir it well.
  2. Let the mixture cool down 
  3. Use this as an eyewash or as a sterilized eyedropper to put into your eyes 

The ratios of honey and sterilized water can be altered. Place the mixture in the fridge before using it for cool sensation. 

Be careful, when you use honey on your eyes. Talk to a doctor if you are taking honey as a treatment for eye cure. 

Honey can be used in many ways to cure our eyes’ condition, but we do not have known about the side effects it can do. A natural product is safe but is not totally safe in any kind of cure like honey.
